"I would like to express my deep appreciation for Bwann, who is not just a coach but also a remarkable leader. She has the incredible ability to make you feel capable of anything and serves as a constant reminder of your potential. During my time at USI, Bwann was always there for me. I firmly believe that her support for me, as well as in others at USI, played a significant role in my graduation. Being able to share personal news and engage in conversations about various aspects of life, such as stocks, sports, and more, had a profound impact on me. These discussions went beyond the realm of education and played a crucial role in shaping my overall life experiences. Having someone like Bwann, who not only fulfills the role very well as a program administrator but also engaged in diverse topics, was invaluable to me. I highly valued these conversations because they demonstrated that she understood the importance of addressing various aspects of our daily lives. In this sense, Bwann served as an all-around mentor to me. I could trust her completely, and she reciprocated that trust by supporting me in my daily endeavors, ultimately enabling me to succeed, maintain consistency, and build confidence in my educational journey".

"Bwann supported me during my college journey on all pillars as a soon-to-be CO’24 graduate. As President of the Lesley University Black Student Union, Bwann encouraged me in words of wisdom to take a leap of faith and to go the extra mile to support Lesley BIPOC students' growth throughout their college experience and beyond. As a first-generation college student, within the first two years of undergrad during the pandemic, Bwann created a welcoming and supportive journey to Lesley University. Through my attendance, I’ve learned from Bwann the importance of authentic leadership, celebrating successes and moments of perseverance, advocacy, and never giving up on my goals. She taught me the value and importance of being able to show up as my authentic self throughout my college experience. I learned valuable lessons from her as to what it means to be a student leader and an advocate for others. There aren’t enough words that can express how grateful I am to have met Bwann and for her support throughout my journey".

"Throughout my college career at Lesley Art + Design, the Urban Scholars Initiative (USI)—a college access program that assists students from underserved communities—has played an essential role in my success as a college student and aspiring professional. I have had the pleasure of meeting Bwann Gwann in the USI program as the former Interim Executive Director. Although I was not one of Bwann’s Student trainees, I have had multiple discussions with Bwann regarding self-improvement and professional etiquette. Bwann is very articulate and not afraid to share insightful advice within the context of an academic and team-oriented setting. Upon my conversation with her, she encouraged me to apply to the Peer Leader position for a week-long summer immersion on-campus experience, where I would work closely with incoming first-year students. This was a great opportunity and so grateful Bwann believed in me and my ability to successfully complete this role. Every step of the way, Bwann provided me with feedback on my leadership. Her feedback has helped me to continue to seek more leadership opportunities post-college, and for that I am thankful".

"Bwann is one of the reasons that I was able to find success early on in my college career as she was extremely helpful and played an important role in my transition from high school to college. Bwann made it easy for me to step out of my comfort zone in college which is something I thought was not possible. Ever since I started my college journey, Bwann has always supported not only me but all of the students she interacts with by attending events students hold and being their biggest supporter. I know that if I ever need anything not just regarding college but life-wise, I along with countless other students can count on Bwann for support".

"As a first-generation college student, I was met with an immense amount of support and guidance from Bwann, my amazing USI coach and mentor. Bwann created a space for all of her students to thrive not only academically, but emotionally as well. The safe space that she developed and protected for us made my college experience amazing. I always knew that I could go to her with any of my problems knowing that she would be my voice when I felt like I didn’t have one. She encouraged me to use my voice and take up space when I felt intimidated, her care for others speaks volumes and has positively impacted me in my overall experience, and I am proud to say that I have graduated with the highest honors and that is all thanks to the best support system behind me.
